Data Engineer

About the Role:


You'll be for developing the infrastructure and systems necessary for analyzing large volumes of data. You'll help ensure data availability, and accessibility for multiple data-driven applications and programs within the association. Work to ensure data quality and accuracy and provides guidance to partners on data management and analytics best practices. Reporting to the Director of Global Tech Solutions, you'll also have a team of two.


You will:


Design the data infrastructure, including data warehouses, data lakes, databases, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines. You will select appropriate technologies, configuring database systems, and implementing data integration processes.


Build efficient and scalable data pipelines to load data from sources into the data storage systems. This includes integrating different data formats, performing data cleansing and transformation.


Collaborate with teams, including data scientists, analysts, and software engineers, to understand their data requirements and ensure smooth integration and access to data. Work with your team to identify data sources, define data integration strategies, and establish data governance practices.


Implement data quality controls, data validation processes, and data governance frameworks to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data. Define data quality standards across the association.


You'll develop the data warehouses and maintaining quality standards across data in the organisation.


Recommend data technologies - Responsible for recommending data technologies that are best suited to meet our data needs.


Ensure technology solutions comply with industry standards and regulations.


Build relationships with technology vendors and service providers. Implement data security measures, access controls, and encryption techniques to protect sensitive data. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards, such as GDPR or HIPAA, by implementing appropriate security and data protection practices.


You have:


Bachelor s or Master s degree in computer science, information Systems, or a related field.


Experience working as a Data Engineer or related role, with experience working with OLAP and data warehousing, along with technologies such as Python, SQL, PowerBI, Snowflake, AWS and Azure.
