Job description

  • 5+ years of experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience in writing and optimizing SQL
  • B.S. degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science or a similar quantitative field
  • Demonstrated strength in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing
  • Data Warehousing Experience with QuickSight, Redshift, PostgreSQL, etc.
  • Query performance tuning skills
  • Coding experience with modern programming or scripting language (Python, Ruby, Java, etc.)

Job summary
The AWS Elastic Block Store (EBS) service delivers high performance cloud storage used by the majority of AWS services and customers and we are still in the early stages of realizing its full potential. EBS is looking for Data Engineers to dive deep into the vast data generated by a rapidly growing AWS storage service and applying current data engineering methods to produce insights that will improve customer experience, operational effectiveness, and business value.

As a senior Data Engineer at EBS, you will need to design, develop and enhance data systems and pipelines supporting process, as well as integrate in-house data infrastructure with partner systems. You should be an expert in the architecture of data warehousing solutions, using multiple platforms and tools. You should have strong analytical skills and excel in the design, creation, management, and business use of large data sets, combining raw information from different sources. You will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes to support the rapidly growing and dynamic business demand for data, and use it to deliver the data as a service, which will have an immediate influence on day-to-day business decision making. You will create automated alarming and dashboards to monitor data quality and completeness. You should have very good communication skills and ability to adjust communication to different groups of stakeholders, collaborating with architects, business intelligence engineers, data scientists, business analysts/managers, to evaluate business needs and objectives in order to set up the best data management environment. You will be the subject matter expert for the data structures and usage, while striving for efficiency by aligning data systems with business goals.
