As a Data and Database Operations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and performance of our data and database environments. Your responsibilities will include monitoring applications and environments, providing recommendations for improvements, and implementing Azure functions. You will focus on maintaining stability, application uptime, and swift incident resolution, along with developing innovative solutions to prevent future outages.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the ongoing maintenance and management of pre-production and production environments, aligning activities with business requirements.
Contribute to the development of implementation plans for complex change requests.
Review new product support documentation and design release packages.
Monitor the effectiveness of installations and make appropriate recommendations for change.
Oversee preliminary reviews for new environments, including capacity and performance management recommendations.
Develop internal control standards and procedures.
Lead the production of high-quality data engineering deliverables and provide mentoring to junior team members.
Ensure data quality through reviews and data cleansing when necessary.
Design, develop, and produce data models of high complexity.
Collaborate with other departments to deliver business value and support project delivery.
Resolve escalated design and implementation issues.
Analyze industry trends such as cloud computing and distributed processing.
Provide technical expertise to maximize value from existing applications, solutions, and infrastructure.
Drive adherence to data engineering and data modeling processes, procedures, and standards.
Develop relationships with other engineering groups to understand products and services better.
Support data platforms, databases, and infrastructure in Azure Gov, following a shift schedule with availability during afterhours.
Skills And Attributes For Success
Comprehensive understanding of Data and Database technologies with troubleshooting abilities.

Full stack knowledge of technologies in Azure Gov is a plus.

Proficiency in data modeling, data storage, and data migration.

Familiarity with various data tools and technologies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of Database Experience, including administration and troubleshooting.
Experience with technologies such as Azure SQL MI, SSIS, Azure SQL PaaS, and Azure Data Factory.
Working knowledge of SQL Server Database configuration, support, and administration tasks.
Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Service Bus, IIS, .NET, and Cloud Development Platforms.
Excellent analytical and communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to work in a team environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Flexibility to work weekends or afterhours as needed.
Beginning to intermediate experience with various tools and technologies, including Azure Data Catalogue, Azure Cloud, Databricks, Power BI Dataflows, and more.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Data Technologies in Azure.

Certified Database Administrator.
Basic experience with tools and technologies such as Amazon Web Services, Azure ADLS Gen 2, Azure Synapse, Alteryx, AWS DynamoDB, Splunk, and SharePoint.

In the New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento), the range is $99,600 to $171,200. Salaries are determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, and geography.
