Your Career

Palo Alto Networks's SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) group is looking for a seasoned and accomplished Data engineer with experience in analyzing data and building data pipeline architecture to fill a technical leadership position in the SD WAN team. You will be part of a world-class software engineering team that works on various ground-breaking technologies in the SD WAN area. You will work with a multi-functional team of engineers designing and developing systems for solving interesting problems in the SDWAN area.

This role is located at our Santa Clara, CA headquarters.

Your Impact

  • Work in a small and fast paced team to solve important customer problems and deliver most impactful results

  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture

  • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into the application/network performance

  • Focus on processing data for reporting and analytics

  • Develop modules for data analytics, search and aggregation

  • Engage with solution architects and data scientists to optimize data collection and storage

  • Work with data infrastructure to triage infra issues and drive to resolution


Qualifications


Your Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in a Data engineer role, who has attained a graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics or another quantitative field

  • Please highlight your experience working with network technologies and network application related data

  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and query authoring using SQL

  • Strong hands on experience with python programming

  • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets

  • Good understanding of data processing pipeline designs - including ingestion, ETL, queries, query optimization, large scale storage

  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets

  • A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets

  • Experience with AWS cloud services like EC2, S3, SQS is a plus
