About the department:
Our Multi Manager Strategies team provides fund research and analysis on both external and internal Fund Managers and investment products. The team as a whole are responsible for over £34bn of assets, across 170 different portfolios. The team benefits from having people with considerable Multi-Manager experience and industry profile. The team continues to experience rapid growth in assets under management as well as demand for new products that support the growing trend towards open or guided architecture that provide a wide range of solutions for the retail and wealth market.
The MMS team has grown its UK AUM and client base considerably and continues to experience rapid growth in assets; it is now an established market leader in the UK fund solutions market. The award winning team has a reputation for delivering first class outcomes in line with client expectati ons through its market leading portfolio management and multi-manager capability supported by the significant wider resources and expertise of ASI. The team continues to experience an increasing demand for new products meeting client and adviser demands for outcome oriented multi-asset solutions in the retail and wealth market, both in the UK and internationally.
About the role:
An exciting opportunity for an individual with strong IT and numerical skills to join an expanding team. A varied role including data maintenance, management and reporting, in addition to supporting requests from the wider team of portfolio managers and analysts, and meeting client data requests.
Key Outcomes / Responsibilities:
Assist in the automation of data management and process improvement.
Ability to extract relevant data, interpret and report to portfolio managers and clients.
Ensure data sources are well maintained.
Identify and correct inaccurate or incorrect data to cleanse data sets.
Support and fulfil general reporting requirements.
Undertake problem and root-cause analysis.
Manipulating data from Excel spreadsheets. Using VLOOKUP, Pivot, Macros and advanced formulae relevant to Data Analysis.
Respond to ad-hoc data requests from internal and external parties.
Qualifications / experience:
Undergraduate degree in mathematics/science or subject with strong numeracy required or school leaver with strong numeracy qualifications and aptitude for data analytics. Relevant experience or professional qualifications would be beneficial.
Advanced IT and quantitative skills with a strong understanding of project management.
Strong problem solving skills, attention to detail and a proven ability to research and innovate.
Ability to work in a small team, agile environment with a high degree of self-organisation. Experience working on both small and large scale projects is beneficial.
Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritise and manage stakeholder expectations.
Interest in financial markets, instruments and technology would be beneficial.
