HPE Financial Services is seeking an experienced energetic Data Scientist to join its newly formed data analytics organization. They will play a prominent role to develop Analytical solutions that apply statistical processing to new or existing data using both descriptive and predictive analyses to uncover patterns and trends, priority areas, forecast, and segment differences to enable data driven decision making and to solve problems including data architecture and engineering to support execution of analysis.

They should be able to break down complex problems into logical and manageable parts in a systematic way, and generate and compare multiple options and set priorities to resolve problems. The ideal candidate must be proactive, and go beyond expectations to achieve job results and create new opportunities. He/she must positively influence the team, promote a friendly climate, and give constructive feedback. Communication skills are key here, to explain organizational objectives, assignments, and the big picture, and to articulate/execute team vision and clear objectives.

How you will mark:

• Understand business problem and requirements by building domain knowledge and translate to data science problem
• Conceptualize and design cutting edge data science solution to solve the data science problem, apply design thinking concepts
• Defines data analytics strategy, statistical tools and methodologies used to interpret data sets
• Identify the right algorithms , tech stack , sample outputs required to efficiently calculate the end need
• Prototype and experiment the solution to successfully demonstrate the value independently or with support from team execute the conceptualized solution as per plan by following project management guidelines
• Present the results to internal and client stakeholder in an easy to understand manner with great story telling, story boarding, insights and visualization
• Help build overall data science capability through support in pilots, pre sales pitches, product development , practice development initiatives

About you:

• Masters or Bachelors in Computer science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
• 5+ years of experience in a research-oriented quantitative or technical work environment
• Skilled in understanding the value of data informed decisions and the ability to conduct data analysis to identify and address challenges.
• Skilled at using of data, statistical algorithms, data modelling and machine learning techniques to produce meaningful actionable insights
• Adept at data wrangling, able to gather select and transform data to answer an analytical question
• Ability to apply advanced statistics and mathematical application within the context of software programming
• Ability to design algorithms to solve complex cloud scale systems and distributed systems problems
• Ability to design, build, visualize and install data systems including integration with other processes and business models that can be leveraged to support machine learning and artificial intelligence efforts
• Knowledge of multiple types of databases, data platforms and concepts such as MapReduce, batch and stream processing
• Ability to engage clients to understand business requirements and convert the same into technical/modelling problems for solution development
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a comfort interacting with clients from the C-suite to marketing managers to technical specialists
• Demonstrated knowledge of analytical/statistical techniques and their applications; a working knowledge of/experience in SQL, R, Python, Power BI, and Qlik is a plus
• Demonstrated excellent communications skills, both written and spoken, as well as being able to explain complex technical concepts in plain English
• Demonstrate strong analytical and storytelling skills
