Data Analyst - Investment Operations

Job Description
The Data Analyst wil lbe a member of the Engineering team and is responsible for daily data qualitychecks as well as building dashboards and implementing reporting for all assetclasses in which DUMAC invests.

Summary of responsibilities:
  • Run point on daily data ingestion quality checks, coordinating with Engineering, Finance, and Risk on issues that arise.
  • Maintain process documentation
  • Troubleshoots technical details / issues
  • Build reconciliation tools to help automate current data quality checks
  • Work with other team members to improve data collection and quality
  • Help design and build reporting and analytic solutions to meet business needs
  • Evaluates data needs of assigned projects,assures data integrity and suitability, determines data collection methods, metrics definitions and evaluation methods
  • Develop, validate, and execute complex queries, perform complex data analysis that answers business questions
Desired skills:
Knowledge of investments and related concepts
  • Advanced SQL knowledge
  • Experience with leading industry data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience in the following -
utilizing a business intelligence visualization tool (Powe r BI, Tableau, etc.)
in querying, analyzing, and working with data languages and platforms (SQL) to investigate large and diverse data sets
working in Python, R, or other data scripting language
Demonstrated ability to learn and apply newly emerging data analytic toolkits depending on the problem statement
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills within and across teams to design, execute answer business and research questions
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking skills with the willingness to understand and probe into technical details
  • Contributes to a motivated work environment by working effectively to achieve common goals
  • Unwavering commitment to ethical behavior and professionalism
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines
Desired Education and experience:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Analytical field, such as Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Finance, Science, or any quantitative based, data intensive field

Minimum Qualifications

Education
Work requires analytical skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Management Science or a related quantitatively oriented field.
Experience

Work requires the ability to analyze and evaluate investment performance generally acquired through one year of experience in the investment or a related field. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
