In a year, our team grew from 17 to 250+, and our software verifies over 9,000 government-issued documents from more than 190 countries. That's millions of verified identities a year and a lot of people working behind the scenes to help make the lives of millions, and one day billions, of people safer online.
Beneath a simple user interface lies a complex system of automated functionalities. Our ML-driven product uses everything from image and text recognition, facial comparison, and behaviour analysis to make confident decisions in seconds. We help our partners build onboarding processes that ensure good people get things done and bad folks get stopped. In order to take our product to the next level, we need world-class data scientists to automate processes historically reserved for humans, so they can be done at superhuman performance levels.
You'll help us protect honest people online by:
- Solving real-world business problems by applying data science expertise to develop state-of-the-art machine learning models
- Working together with various in-house teams: implementing ML research engineers' findings; transforming algorithms into reliable and efficient services with the help of software engineers; defining and assembling quality datasets together with DataOps; working closely with the product organisation to translate business problems into well-defined and actionable data science projects
- Driving data science projects from early exploratory stages all the way to our production stack
- Showing initiative in ideation and creative problem solving, helping us stay one step ahead of fraudsters
You are the right future Veriffian for the job if you have:
- Expertise in machine learning, particularly in deep learning/computer vision
- Solid grasp of Python and the notion of object-oriented programming
- Experience with writing complex SQL queries
- A track record of working with datasets of all sorts and sizes, being able to critically assess and address the quality of data at hand
- Strong communication skills, with a drive to present findings in a concise and clear manner
You're an especially awesome match if you have:
- Experience working within the TensorFlow/PyTorch ML frameworks
- A formal education in a quantitative field
- Knowledge of ML-relevant cloud systems (particularly within the AWS stack)
- An understanding of microservices (Docker, Kubernetes) and productionising ML models
- Background in data-driven software development
