In this role you will be responsible for building, designing, and managing the data pipelines within the analytics team of ABB Turbocharging - Digital Customer Solutions, in Baden, ensuring a fast and reliable flow of data between applications and databases.Reporting to the Head of Analytics and Intelligence, you will be part of an agile team responsible for developing analytics solutions based on sensor data. Such data is obtained from turbocharged combustion engines operated on a broad range of applications – in areas such as locomotive, power plant and marine industry. The data collected is the foundation to develop and provide advanced, value-adding solutions to our customers.

Your responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain the appropriate APIs and solutions to ensure that the analytics team can query time-series and transactional data, and that their findings are brought back to our digital products
  • Manage, monitor, and improve our workflow automation with tools such as Apache Airflow
  • Support the Data Scientists in deploying machine learning and deep learning models
  • Ensure the scalability of the developed solutions with proper infrastructure (e.g., Cloud-based)

Your background

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in building and automating data pipelines, working as data engineer or software developer
  • Sound knowledge of Python, SQL, bash and cloud services, preferably MS Azure
  • Knowledge of Apache Airflow is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with ML Ops and ML Engineering is beneficial
  • Experience with time series databases (e.g. InfluxDB) is a strong plus
  • BSc or MSc in STEM
  • Fluent in English
