AWS Data Engineer (contract)

As Canada’s leading Data and AI company, we are looking for a solid Data Engineer with strong Python and SQL skills, as well as knowledge with dbt (data build tool) for data transformation and modeling and experience in AWS platform.

Location: Remote

Status: Contract/Full-Time

Responsibilities

• Work with the business to understand and gather requirements.
• Utilize knowledge and experience with AWS native tools such as S3, Redshift, Redshift Spectrum, Glue, and Athena.
• Utilize dbt for data transformation and modeling to create and maintain efficient data models and schemas.
• Perform skillset related to SQL and Python.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on data.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
• Understanding of data governance principles and data security practices.
• Advanced knowledge and use of SQL queries.
• Advanced knowledge and use of Python.
• Prior experience with dbt (data build tool) for data transformation and modeling.
• Hands-on experience with the AWS platform, including services like S3, Redshift, Redshift Spectrum, Glue, and Athena.
• Experience working with relational databases (Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server).
• Strong communication skills.
