Data Analyst

Job description

Job Summary:The Data Analyst will facilitate and lead assigned projects by performing analytics and acting as a liaison between users and CTO on the data infrastructure and reporting needs, proposing and implementing scalable data reporting infrastructure and evaluating, producing, and refining dashboards and reports.

Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with business staff to thoroughly understand the needs to be supported by the information systems and technology.
  • Determines how changes to the project will affect the business and systems.
  • Provides recommendations regarding the evolution of the data system.
  • Responds to inquiries and provides advice to the client regarding current and potential system inputs, processes, and outputs.
  • Identifies plans and timeframes, ensuring that data transformation meets anticipated result.
  • Satisfies data sampling, project analysis, testing verification, and other user requests from existing client databases.
  • Managing master data, including creation, updates, and deletion.
  • Provide quality assurance of imported data, working with quality assurance analysts if necessary.
  • Commissioning sand decommissioning of data sets.
  • Processing confidential data and information according to guidelines.
  • Managing and designing the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
  • Supporting the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements.
  • Supporting initiatives for data integrity and normalization.
  • Assessing tests and implementing new or upgraded software and assisting with strategic decisions on new systems.
  • Generating reports from single or multiple systems.
  • Troubleshooting the reporting database environment and reports.
  • Evaluating changes and updates to source production systems.
  • Training end-users on new reports and dashboards.
  • Providing technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
Requirements

Required Skills / Abilities:
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, R, and similar data related programming languages
  • Experiences working with NoSQL databases and big data infrastructure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software program.
  • Excellent management skills with the ability to lead, facilitate, motivate, and organize.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • Ability to learn quickly and to creatively solve new problems.
  • Ability to handle differing stakeholders
  • Ability to act as a team player. Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field required. Schedule:Monday - Friday 9:00AM - 5:30PM Location:Skokie IL
