THE OPPORTUNITY

The Data Engineer on the Data Operations team at Chipotle will be assisting in building new and maintaining existing enterprise data solutions as well as serving as the owner/admin of Chipotle's customer data platform (Microsoft Customer Insights). You will be responsible for building & maintaining data pipelines as well as serving as the subject matter expert and administrator of the customer data platform (CDP). You will work with other analytical pipelines by collaborating with the Enterprise Analytics team as required as well. Nature of work will include design and development of enhancements, troubleshooting for root cause analysis and other project work incorporating new data sources into our data platforms.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

In addition to following Chipotle's policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory
• Use strong SQL expertise to build segments and measures within the customer data platform
• Solve complex data issues around data integration, unusable data elements, unstructured data sets, and other data processing incidents
• Set up Analytical pipelines to aid data scientists in model building and other analysis and then work with the broader BI team in solutioning and implementing a production solution to operationalize the analytical models
• Collaborate closely with Microsoft and other vendors discussing current state and future projects related to the CDP
• Develop high performance scripts in SQL to achieve optimal objectives of enterprise data, BI and analytics need
• Partner with enterprise teams, data scientist, architects to define requirements and solution
• Manage code versions in source control (Azure DevOps) and coordinate changes across team
• Participate in architecture design, discussions, and code reviews

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE

• B. A./B.S. in technical field (Information Systems/Technology, Computer Systems/Science/Engineering)
• 5-8 years of experience working in Business Intelligence or with Customer master data
• Azure Cloud certifications
• Hands on experience with Microsoft BI & Azure Stack - SQL, Azure Data Factory, etc.
• Experience working with Customer Data preferably on a customer data platform
• Proven track-record of excellence and consistently delivered past project successfully
• Can lead a team in thought process and maintaining a stable environment
• Effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously and pay close attention to detail
• Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations
• Have excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
• Manage financial information in a confidential and professional manner
• Be highly motivated and flexible
• Have experience in a multi-dimensional data environment (i.e. EDW)
