Data Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY: The Data Engineer II maintains database architecture, data models and metadata that support the Enterprise Data Ecosystem (EDE). Designs, develops, tests and maintains data curation processes necessary to extract data from source systems and transform data according to business needs. Evaluates data reusability and reviews data usage to structure data for better management and quicker access. Supports project initiatives for process improvement and performance tracking. Provides consultation and support in the development, analysis, design and management of a variety of complex data sources.

Bachelor’s Degree (Specific Majors: Computer Science, Math or Engineering related field).

Epic Clarity data model fundamentals training is required within 90 days of employment and certification within 6 months of employment. Certification must be maintained as new version training is released.

3 years of Information Technology experience,

3 years progressively complex experience in ETL, SQL, and programming.

3 years relational database experience.

3 years data warehousing and/or business intelligence experience.

Experience creating datamarts and multi-dimensional data structures.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

3 years progressively complex experience in Informatica PowerCenter.

3 years Teradata experience.

Strong understanding of statistics and/or analytical methodologies.

1 year experience with other technologies common to OSF Healthcare environment, Epic Systems preferred.

Experience with agile and rapid development processes.
