About our group:


The Data Analytics and Reporting Systems Group (DARS) is a highly technical group responsible for the design, development, and deployment of systems for RHG Process Engineering and the Wafer organization’s systems initiatives. The Wafer factories in Seagate are located in the US and Northern Ireland with significant collaboration between the teams.

With a portfolio that includes AI-powered solutions, ML algorithms, best in class visualizations, and rapid deployment, this team has won industry awards due to its innovation, best in class systems, and value delivery.

About the role - you will:


  • Extract information and insight from both structured and unstructured information from large datasets
  • Design, develop and implement innovative statistical models/machine learning algorithms, production pipelines, and solutions to enable state-of-the-art manufacturing automation and to solve Wafer’s most challenging problems
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify and understand the challenges and opportunities, and then implement and scale the solutions
  • Manage projects and deliverables to design, deploy, and enhance factory automation software solutions

About you:


  • Proficiency in Python, R and SQL
  • Demonstrated theoretical understanding of modern machine learning algorithms
  • Demonstrated intuitive understanding of the practical applications of learning algorithms
  • An aptitude and interest for systems development life cycle
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated willingness in knowledge sharing and learning new techniques
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree with relevant experience in data science and machine learning; or PhD in Computer Science/Statistics/Applied Mathematics or related technical field or equivalent practical experience

Your experience includes:


  • Experience with scripting languages (Python preferred)
  • Experience in translating business questions to mathematical analysis and to business recommendations, using large datasets.
  • Experience in IoT/time-series analysis in a high-tech manufacturing environment is a plus,
