Activision Blizzard’s Security Engineering Team is looking for a talented and motivated Splunk Engineer to join its ranks. You’ll be joining a technical team focused on the implementation of safeguarding Activision, Blizzard, and King’s games, systems, and people.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing, creating, and supporting both on-prem and cloud infrastructure for tooling, orchestration, logging, and operations of Security systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate Linux proficiency, be self-motivated, have exceptional written and verbal communication skills and will be looking for an excellent opportunity to merge their passions for gaming and security.

As a Splunk Engineer, you may find yourself…
  • Designing, engineering, deploying, and maintaining clustered Splunk and Linux-based technologies
  • Supporting SPL, dashboard, and knowledge object use-cases for Security, IT, anti-fraud, and development teams
  • Leveraging Configuration Management to build and maintain consistency across systems
  • Building Terraform configs to manage infrastructure in public and private clouds
  • Employing your systems knowledge to triage problems and tune resource usage
  • Championing automation to eliminate the mundane or repetitive
  • Drafting documentation, policy, and procedures for technology and services
  • Leading individual projects from inception to completion
  • Being part of an on-call rotation to support the Operations Teams during incidents
  • Responding to incidents, discovering gaps, embracing transparency, and writing blameless postmortems to improve the reliability of our services
You may succeed in this role if you…
  • Are an evangelist of Linux and open source technologies
  • Like to solve novel and exciting problems
  • Dislike solving the same problems over-and-over so you are driven to automate or eliminate them
  • Feel inspired to make everyone’s job easier by improving workflows
  • Are comfortable digging through metrics, logs, and whatever else is available to improve systems and resolve incidents
  • Are okay using older technologies that may not be perfect, but are good enough and low maintenance
  • Can self-assess the needs of a system or team, and make a case to prioritize that work
  • Relish working with software, network, cloud, and other systems engineers to solve problems across all tiers of the stack
  • Help your peers succeed as much as you can
Types of projects you may work on…
  • Uplifting CI/CD and automations pipelines
  • Architecting and engineering data-related Security services and infrastructure
  • Configuring and deploying at-scale services across multiple clouds
  • Consulting on Security best-practices across the business
  • Leveling up Linux endpoint protection technologies
