Vista Defense Technologies, LLC. is seeking a Data Engineer/Software Developer
The Data Engineer/Software Developer must have a minimum of ten years’ experience as a system developer, five years of demonstrated experience working with large and complex data sets, at least 2 of the following MHS systems/application: CEIS or MIP, MHSPHP, AFCHIPS, COHORT, or HSDW, as well as experience analyzing volumes of data responsible for enabling and running data migrations across different databases and servers. Examples include SQL Server, Teradata, Hortonworks, etc. Software development experience in multiple languages preferred. The candidate must also have at least two years of experience in the AWS environment and at least four years of experience with SQL Server 2016 or above.
More specifically, the Data Engineer/Software Developer must have the following technical skills: Configure, test and maintain application software and associated tools, Develop customized software/code to meet requirements, Review and update existing codebase for performance, security and to meet new requirements, Evaluate, analyze, plan and implement systems automation as required, Ability to code in various scripting/programming languages, (i.e., TSQL, Visual Studio 2017, Oracle SQL, Teradata Studio, SSIS, C#, JSON, and Performance Tuning. The Data Engineer/Software Developer will perform peer review on other developer's code, perform monitoring and performance tuning of application stacks, troubleshoot application issues, documenting mitigation procedures for future review, perform root cause analysis concerning application failures or issues, experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and associated infrastructure, develop short notice ad hoc queries, document development phases, and testing results, and possess experience with MHS clinical systems.
It is preferred that the Data Engineer/Software Developer possess a Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or any other technology-related field, experience with Teradata, RedShift, and development of code containerization.
