Kāpili Services, LLC has a potential need for a Data Scientist, to provide support for the 711th Human Performance Wing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, out of Ohio.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide professional studies, reports, analyses and recommendation(s), technical, engineering, and scientific support for the completion of Aim1-4 as detailed in description of services.
- Coordinate with Occupational Health Researcher to maximize knowledge base of Air Force or Air Staff risk management and decision making tools to assist with the development and analysis of data to support Aim 1-4.
- Coordinate with the Occupational Health Researcher to provide a one page summary of all activities/progress status to the Principal Investigator (PI) and Assistant Investigator (AI) on a bi-weekly basis.
- Build analytics tools, mockups, and ‘dashboards’ that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into population health, operational efficiency and other key performance metrics.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements such as automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
- Prepare and deliver reports related to the ILER Study analysis. When applicable, reports shall be in DTIC format.
- Assist with presentation design.
- Will be responsible for supporting the ILER Study and goals of Aims 1, 3, and 4 while supporting of Aim 2.
- Will complete all training necessary to obtain an ILER account within 30 days of start. Training includes: Joint Knowledge Online ILER Training Course (#US1086), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Privacy Act, Annual Cyber Security, and Rules of Behavior.
- Will complete the following training within 30 days of start: Air Force Risk Management Fundamentals Course 2020, FMA300 - Manager's Internal Control Program (MICP) Risk Assessment Review, DCS300 Decision Support.
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field, or a Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrate experience in data collection and analysis in support of the study requirements.
- Have 10 years of work-related experience in computer science or related field.
- Have 8 years’ advanced experience working SAP, SQL, Business Objects knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
- Have a minimum of 8 years’ experience using Microsoft Office software programs including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Visio.
- Demonstrate experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes.
- Have experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ pipelines, architectures and data sets.
- Because of the nature of this position in working in Management Operations and dealing with various Personnel related issues, this FTE must also have a Non-Disclosure Agreement in place with their company, and the company must provide a copy to the Program Manager of this contract. This is necessary in order to mitigate transfer of any confidential, proprietary and/or sensitive information while in this position.

- Must be a US citizen.
- Must pass a Tier 1- Background check, SF/85.
