An outstanding opportunity to join us as an Experienced Data Scientist with a background in financial crime prevention (e.g. transaction monitoring and / or anti-fraud) to drive and build solutions for our internal customers within a big data platform. Studying fundamental and high impact business questions relating to transaction monitoring that directly affect the direction of the company and the industry at large in this particular field. Design and develop features, algorithms, build minimal viable products, carry out extensive validation with business experts and operationalize your methods. Your responsibilities include development, maintenance and extraction of knowledge from strategic internal and external data sets, as well as manage documentation to support the development of an in-house developed capability to detect client behavior potentially of money laundering concern.

We expect you to be a results-oriented individual who demonstrates integrity, responsibility and confidentiality required for dealing with sensitive data. You will be a good match if you have:

• A PhD or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics), Computer Science or an equivalent education and at least 3-5 yrs. experience in the field financial crime prevention, preferably transaction monitoring, anti-fraud, or equivalent.
• A thorough understanding of relevant typologies and how these can be transferred to logic to mitigate risks
• Python proficiency and familiarity with assembling and analyzing big data sets from disparate sources applying quantitative methodologies, computational frameworks and systems
• Demonstrated ability in applying statistical modelling, machine learning and / or exploratory analysis to large datasets to prevent financial crime
• Experience in developing innovative solutions or PoCs for anti-financial crime
• Ability to explain complex topics and methodologies to a non-technical audience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in English, German is an asset.
