Join Our Client as a Senior Data Analyst!

Are you a talented Senior Data Analyst looking for an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on public services? Our client, a prominent organisation committed to enhancing the lives of the community, is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join their team for a 2–3-month contract.

Job Description

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in the organisation's mission to enhance public services.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Gather Requirements: You will liaise with stakeholders to gather business requirements for data analyses, reports, models, and visualizations, aiming to improve Council services. You will also review the Council's existing reports and identify ways to provide the best value to stakeholders.
  • Visualize Data: Design, develop, and build compelling visualizations, dashboards, and reports within Power BI, supporting data 'storytelling' for Council and the community.
  • Analyse Data: Compile and analyse data sets using tools like SSMS in an Azure and SQL Server environment. You may also have the opportunity to utilise contemporary methods for advanced analytics, potentially including predictive modeling (desirable).
  • Data Governance: Uphold data security standards, develop sound documentation, and ensure compliance with Council legislative requirements.
  • Data Migration: Assist in cleansing and preparing data for migration to a new Oracle ERP when required. You will also be responsible for writing SQL scripts and queries (desirable).

Job Requirements:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A tertiary qualification in ICT or a related field of study, with equivalent industry qualifications or work experience.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively liaise with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • The capability to understand business processes and problems, and design and build data and analytics solutions to solve them.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in writing and developing SQL scripts and procedures within a Microsoft environment (SSMS, SSAS).
  • A strong understanding of Data Governance principles and frameworks.
