The Bosch unit in Ovar belongs to the Building Technologies division and is focused on bringing solutions to the market that are shaping the smart cities of the future. The company develops and produces innovative solutions for security and communication systems, fire alarms and electronic displays. With about 700 employees, its success lies in the highly specialized and innovative team and technological know-how.
Your responsibilities as Industrial Data Engineer will be:
- You'll apply or expertise of industrial systems and data analytics to research and design an innovative Industrial Internet of Things platform. Your work will create the foundation of a new, cutting edge, IoT platform for industrial applications. You’ll use your overview over the entire system to interface with relevant stakeholders, coordinate activities to search for unattended industrial problems and ignite solution-oriented discussions within the team.
- You will use your modeling and data analytics knowledge to research and implement algorithms that address the defined problems and define customer requirements. It is expected that you will collaborate closely with academic institutions acting as technical senior interface with research partners.
- You’ll have the opportunity to use your ability to understand the context behind the data and use your curious mindset to search for solutions for real-life problems being in close contact with the users for your solutions. It is expected you will the take responsibility over your work packages and support other team members, guiding them on translating industrial requirements in technical concepts.
- You will create the foundation of a new, cutting edge, IoT platform for industrial applications.
What distinguishes you:
- MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, SW Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Applied Mathematics
- More than 2 years of experience with systems modeling and data analytics
- Experience with Spark, Hadoop and message brokers
- Previous experience with backend development with Java is highly valued
- Experience on machine learning algorithms, ML libraries and algorithm performance assessment
- Enjoy user research and problem exploration
- Familiarity with IoT systems and cloud computing
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Very good English communication abilities
