Overview
The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure, including data warehouse solutions, ETL processes, data quality initiatives, and adhere to CNB’s data governance practices. You'll work closely with our data analysts, data governance, and other stakeholders to ensure that our data pipelines are efficient, scalable, and reliable while maintaining high standards of data quality and governance. You will also play a key role in modernizing our data warehouse operations to align with industry best practices and emerging technologies, in this case, hybrid on-prem and Azure platform ecosystem. This position is responsible for gathering and processing raw data (unstructured/structured), and translating analysis being able to support data processing workflows.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Possess problem-solving, analytical, ability to program in multiple languages (C/C++, S (e.g. as implemented in R), Python, MATLAB and/oJava, ETL Processes, and database management fundamentals.
- Lead & support the design, develop, and maintain data warehouse solutions to support reporting and analytics.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the data warehouse, both on-prem and Azure ecosystem.
- Optimize and tune data pipelines for performance, scalability, and data quality.
- Develop and implement data quality initiatives to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Modernize data warehouse operations by adopting industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Perform data analysis required to troubleshoot and assist in resolving data issues.
- Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.

- Understand and monitor the regulatory and security requirements for data related to the industry in which the organization operates; ensuring compliance and proper protection occurs
- Lead management reviews and opportunity assessment processes that identify improvement opportunities related to: process efficiency, cost savings, business model expansion, and competitive advantages.
- Oversee the end-to-end management of the organization’s data assets (data lifecycle, information lifecycle) related to dependencies with the enterprise data repositories.
- Ensure data assets in the organization are managed in a secure manner, adhering to security and privacy requirements.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years experience with data management, ETL concepts and processes, Data Warehouse and Data Marts concepts.
- 2-3 years experience problem solving pertaining to data and data movement.
- Strategic planning and initiative designs.
- Knowledge of data requirements in the Finance sector.
- Experience supporting strategic initiatives and projects, implementing successful strategies.
- The ability to recognize structural issues within the organization, functional interdependencies, and cross-silo redundancies.
- Experience working with senior management in strategy development and value creation in a Corporate environment.
- The ability to assimilate and correlate disconnected documentation and drawings, and articulate their collective relevance to the organization and to high-priority business issues.
- A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance.
- The ability to act as liaison conveying information needs of the business to IT/Ops and data constraints to the business; applies equal conveyance regarding business strategy and IT strategy, business processes and work flow automation, business initiatives and IT initiatives, and benefit realization and service delivery.
- Proven experience in Data Management planning, organization and development.
- Knowledge and experience of DAMA DMBOK and the different disciplines of Data Management.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in technical or relevant field, or equivalent education and related training.
