All About The Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in the Logistics Analytics Hub. You will contribute to building a new state-of-the-art data architecture and a single source of truth “golden dataset” that provides consistent and easy access to Logistics data and KPIs across the global business.
This will give key stakeholders, from the CEO and COO to Country and City Operations Managers the ability to have consistent metrics and drive the logistics business to high performance and profitability.
In this role, you will also have the opportunity to:
- Take a leading role in delivering data solutions for Logistics, globally
- Actively take part in designing future-proof data solutions to deliver a single source of truth for Logistics data, including data ingestion, ETL, and data warehouse modeling
- Collect and transform structured and unstructured data from different sources into a structured output
- Develop data pipelines to populate the data warehouse and data marts, with high-data quality and reliable data
- Develop and maintain data monitoring/data quality solutions
- Develop clean, maintainable, and performant code
- Support the migration of our legacy data solutions to the new state-of-the-art “one data platform” in Google Cloud
- Collaborate with high-performing team members around the world
- Coach junior team members and develop soft skills along with core tech skills
Can you deliver…
Here are the skills and experience we need from you:
- 3+ years experience in developing big data pipelines, data warehouses, and/or software engineering
- In-depth knowledge of data warehouse modeling concepts
- In-depth Python OOP knowledge
- Highly proficient in SQL
- Ability to design balanced and future-proof solutions
- Ability to develop clean, maintainable, and performant code
- You are able to strike a balance between development speed, documentation, and testing
- Experience with cloud-based development, preferably GCP
- Experience/familiarity with the CI/CD lifecycle of data products
- Familiar with infrastructure as code tools (e.g. Terraform)
- Nice to have: Experience with Pub/Sub messaging architecture and software (e.g. Kafka, GCP Pub/Sub)
- Excellent communication skills
