Your Key Accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Undertake quantitative, and qualitative statistical analysis to influence, inform and support decision making in timely manner.
- Assist in the delivery of authoritative statistical and analytical advice, statistical reviews, reports, publications, presentations, correspondence, and information extracts, to inform crime trend identification and context.
- Extract, collate and present data from multiple data sources using modern data storage and retrieval systems while addressing client requirements.
- Assist in implementing innovative solutions and promote continuous improvement including through the review of practices, procedures, and standards to enhance the management, dissemination, and reporting of accurate statistical data.
- Engage and build productive relationships to create understanding and capability both within Research & Analytics team and stakeholders internal and external to the QPS, including senior management.
Role Requirements
Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience:
Highly Desirable
- Sound understanding of information & database systems preferably within the safety portfolio
- Demonstrated programming experience with one or more statistical packages such as SAS, R, Python, SQL, etc.
- Ability to create data visualisations and reports using Microsoft Reporting Services
- Microsoft Power BI, ZAP BI or similar
Desirable
- Experience with incident recording, dispatch and corporate systems
- Ability to analyse data, formulate reports and provide recommendations
- Expert skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Demonstrated communication skills for stakeholder engagement
