Job Description:
This Sr. Data Scientist will join our Machine Learning & Intelligence Operation (MLIO) analytics team and become part of Chase's Data Analytics/Data Science community. The ideal candidate will utilize their data analytics and programming skills to assist in optimizing Chase's machine learning products in business operations, while at the same time learning and growing in the field of data science and consumer banking businesses.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform big-data analysis with limited guidance in both Hadoop and on-premises environments
Work in concert with senior team members to investigate and explain key performance drivers and business impacts
Partner with cross-functional teams to consolidate business assumptions with productionized data to validate test hypotheses and identify production flaws
Present results to peers, leadership team and business partners
Proactively investigate issues and problems in both model building and production phases
Document KPI, PoC, workflow, and data sources in clear and concise way
Write and maintain SQL and Python code
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor Degree in Economics, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a STEM related field AND 4 years of work experience OR
Master Degree in Economics, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a STEM related field AND 2 years of work experience
Solid programming skills in Python, SQL, Other tools
Effective writing and communication skills
Detail oriented problem-solver with time management capability
Certificates and Licenses: None required.
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with Excel PivotTable and data visualization tools (including Power BI, Tableau, Plotly)
Coursework in multivariate statistics, multiple regression, programming languages (Python, SQL/SAS/Hive, Spark), machine learning, data analytics and visualization
