Join the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Team! We are seeking a seasoned technical leader to lead the development of Demand Planning and Supply Fulfillment applications. As a Consulting Member Tech Staff (IC5), you will own one of the most critical applications for OCI infrastructure growth. You will be directly responsible for the software architecture and development for external customer applications critical to delivering OCI capacity.
This role is within the OCI Demand Planning and Supply Fulfillment (DPSF) organization. OCI DPSF is part of the larger OCI Cloud Capacity organization that manages our global cloud infrastructure's capacity planning, purchasing, and delivery. As an engineering team, we support OCI's growth by systematically addressing the end-to-end capacity flow by providing data, applications, and services. Practically speaking, this means collecting and interpreting large data sets, building end-to-end capacity management applications, and automating manual processes that are often stuck in Excel.
We are seeking a seasoned senior lead engineer to lead the development of Demand Planning and Supply Fulfillment applications. As a Consulting Member Tech Staff (IC5), you will own one of the most foundational layer that is critical for OCI growth. You will provide the technical thought leadership for data pipeline and warehouse architecture, flow, and business intelligence functions. You will develop and mentor junior team members, recruit and expand the team
Responsibilities
- Applying your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging, or designing software applications, operating systems, and databases according to provided design specifications.
- Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision future improvements to the architecture.
- Assist in the development of short, medium, and long-term plans to achieve strategic objectives.
- Regularly interact across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met.
- Exercises independent judgement in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Mentor team members enabling operational excellence across the organization.
- Support both public and government (secure) environments.
- Understand the OCI ecosystem and the broader Oracle ecosystem on the Data Analytics and retrieval aspects
- Mentor junior engineers and make them successful as well in their assignments
- Experiment with the compute / storage / networking infrastructure as necessary and be able to recommend improvements in the way the service runs in various dimensions of performance, reliability, optimal cost, etc. The scale of data is at the petabyte level; a great emphasis will be on drawing the last ounce of performance out of the underlying hardware to minimize the total cost of ownership for our customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area with at least ten (10+) years’ experience delivering, operating, or directly supporting large-scale, highly available distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of demand planning, forecasting, and supply chain operations
- Understanding of operating systems and ticket and problem management best practices and distributed systems and infrastructure fundamentals.
- Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure is a strong plus.
- Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development.
