Senior Data Scientist

Job description

We are actively seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our Technology team here in Perth, on a permanent basis.


In this role, you will play a key part in transforming raw data into valuable insights that inform strategic decisions and optimise business processes.


You'll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, develop analytical solutions, and drive innovation using cutting-edge techniques and technologies.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research on advanced analytics opportunities in areas including generative AI, prediction, regression, machine learning and text mining.​
  • Applying mathematics, statistics, and machine learning to extract key insights when undertaking analytics.​
  • Developing comprehensive and robust models and algorithms that drive innovation throughout the organisation. ​
  • Promoting the use of advanced analytics by translating complex mathematical techniques into consumable and commercial concepts.​
  • ​Delivering a seamless and proactive service to stakeholders by effectively communicating the customer opportunity, commercial benefit, analytical findings, and data recommendations.​
  • Fostering relationships with key stakeholders to improve their understanding and knowledge of data science techniques.


Successful candidates will:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Demonstrate proven experience in machine learning, time series analysis, both supervised and unsupervised methods, and deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Have programming proficiency in at least two of the following languages: Python, R, Scala, SQL.
  • Exhibit strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to those from other fields.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills for fostering teamwork, collaboration, and inclusivity.
  • Show a commitment to understanding diverse cultures and promoting a collaborative, respectful work environment.


This role is for applicants residing in or willing to relocate to Perth.
