Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Business Data Analyst, as part of the CIB Business Enablement-Markets Regulation team, within CIB Infrastructure Services (Corporate and Investment Banking). Learn more about our career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com.

The CIB Business Enablement team supports CIB initiatives by providing data strategy, business consulting, and business solutions. The team is required to enable and support multiple business-sponsored multi-year transformation initiatives and regulatory efforts, as well as provide dedicated capital markets subject matter expertise to solve enterprise data issues. As a member of the team, you will deliver business solutions in the areas of CIB Regulatory Reporting, CIB International, and CIB COO, with the Traded Products Domain Authorized Provisioning Point (TPD APP) as one of the firm's strategic data sources. This role is hybrid, located in Uptown Charlotte with in office expectations of 3 days per week, and ability to work remote 2 days per week.

The CIB Senior Business Data Analyst consults with data customers and partner teams to identify and define business requirements based on business needs for data solutions. This position requires a good understanding of both data analytics and the business components of a project, and their interdependencies for the desired solution, coupled with relationship building and interpersonal skills. This position also requires the ability to take ownership of initiatives and drive them to completion with support from the Business Enablement team and partner teams. Candidates will be interested in joining this team if they want to work in an exciting area where Data meets Banking.

This role requires relationship and communication skills as you will partner with three key areas: Data clients - downstream consumers and their tech teams; data product owners - APP product teams and their tech teams; and data suppliers - upstream systems of record/SoRs. Data clients include: CIB Markets, Finance/International Controllers, various Wells Fargo international entities, Front Line Risk and Control, CIB Operations.

Examples of projects where the selected candidate would engage partners, perform analytics, help design a solution, and drive to completion, include:

  • Facilitate data discovery to enhance Regulation implementation of Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) #239

  • Enhance the data solution for QFC Recordkeeping and QFC Stay Reporting

  • Gather business requirements to support International Controllers implementation of strategic data sourcing for its Banking Platform

In this role, you will:
  • Work with data clients from various CIB organizations (Markets, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Business Control, etc.), along with data product owners to understand the business needs in order to create and document information business requirements for prioritized initiatives.
  • Use analysis and business requirements to drive discussion to meet initiative objectives
  • Leverage domain expertise and data, business, or process analysis to inform and support solution design
  • Consult with clients to assess the current state of data and metadata quality within area of assigned responsibility
  • Design and conduct complex analysis to identify and remediate data quality or integrity issues and to identify and remediate process or control gaps
  • Use and adopt query tools to compare data sets from different sources to facilitate confidence in sourcing changes
  • Adhere to data governance standards and procedures
  • Develop recommendations for optimal approaches to resolve data quality issues
  • Develop and implement plans for assessing the quality of new data sources
  • Lead project teams and mentor less experienced staff members
  • Drive planning and coordination on low to medium sized remediation efforts, acting as central point of contact
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 5+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of SQL, Python, or other queries used to access the Enterprise Data Lake to compare moderate size data sets for the purposes of data discovery, data confirmation, and data alignment
  • 2+ years of experience in capital markets, securities, investment banking, securities operations, financial services or similar
Desired Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of relationship management or project experience with business and technology partners to achieve shared objectives
  • Knowledge of data models and data supply chain
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Ability to create data visualization using Tableau or QlikView
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of creation of basic charts and workflows using Visio
  • Knowledge and understanding of operational risk and business controls
  • Experience working with Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) #239 regulation
  • QFC Recordkeeping or QFC Stay regulation experience

  • New York Pay Range - $100,800.00 - $179,200.00 Annual

  • Charlotte Pay Range - $84,000.00 - $149,400.00 Annual
