Control Management is designed to ensure a strong and consistent control environment across the organization from front office to back office, irrespective of line of business or functional area. With control managers appointed for each line of business, function and region, there is a comprehensive coverage/accountability model that promotes firmwide dialogue and consistency in approach and solutions.

The Control Management Controls Room team works collaboratively with other control disciplines and oversees existing control functions as well as the development of new control functions and protocols. The team's objective is to empower the three lines of defense with risk-based information to manage their control environment. One way we achieve this is by managing and developing applications to monitor and report on the control effectiveness to help mitigate operational risk for the Firm.

The team is seeking an experienced analytics candidate to develop dashboards and innovative analytical solutions for the control management organization. In this role, you will work at the intersection of analytics, user experience, and product development by brainstorming and developing reports through detailed analysis of operational risk data. You will work with business subject matter experts and LOB Control Managers, as well as partner with our Technology software engineers to perform analysis and develop solutions to turn complex, technical concepts into reporting outputs that drive insights for both analytical and non-analytical audiences. You will be responsible for designing and developing ETL workflows and datasets in Alteryx and building new custom Tableau dashboards to meet business requirements.

The ideal candidate will combine deep data insight and a strong analytics skill set with a product development lifecycle experience and understanding. Hands on experience conducting complex analysis on large data sets, involvement in story writing and product development, and a keen eye toward program, project, and analysis completion to meet deadlines are vital for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• End to end development of operational risk data reporting to be leveraged by various business units across the firm - technical data extraction to report/visualization creation
• Lead discussions with internal stakeholders and technology to capture requirements and deliver innovative solutions
• Design and build new custom Tableau dashboards to meet customer requirements
• Use Alteryx to create a repeatable ETL and data model to serve data to Tableau dashboards
• Write complex SQL queries with multiple joins to automate/manipulate these extracts in Alteryx
• Understand existing source data and perform data validation to maintain accuracy of reporting
• Develop an in-depth understanding of risk and control program strategies and apply this knowledge to improve projects, determine solutions, and resolve issues
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for workflows
• Manage/participate in multiple project work-streams concurrently

Qualifications / Skills

• Quantitative background (BA/BS in Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field)
• An understanding of the agile methodology
• Experience translating user requests to technology requirements using agile management tools like JIRA
• Experience in building, publishing, and managing reports/dashboards leveraging Tableau
• Advanced knowledge of self-service analytic/ETL tools, specifically Alteryx
• An understanding of data visualization best practices
• Understanding and ability to manipulate and join multiple diverse datasets
• Experience project managing small to large scale projects
• Experience working with internal control and risk management is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Must be able to communicate with a wide variety of functional groups at various levels
• Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take personal responsibility/accountability
• Flexible, adaptable to shifting priorities; able to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment; effective time management and multitasking skills
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel; Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel to validate report results using pivot tables, charts, and graphs
