Data Science Consultant

Join us as a SeniorData Scientist in our Software Development organization as we create and update software solutions to modernize the computer experience for our customers. The teams are primarily located in the Austin and Dallas area, with a small presence in India. We all are currently working remotely and when the buildings open in the fall, the plan is to work in a hybrid mode - primarily working remotely. Working remotely full time will be considered.


What you’ll achieve
As a Data Science Consultant, you will be responsible for contributing to the development and enhancement of various algorithms and influence decision making based on information gained from deep dive analysis. You will produce actionable and compelling recommendations by interpreting insights from a broad source of data sets. You will design processes to consolidate and examine unstructured data to generate actionable insights. You will also collaborate with business leaders and our engineers from different organizations to construct predictive models, algorithms and probability engines.
You will:

  • Lead cross-functional engagements to define problem statements, establish KPIs, collect/process data, build analytical models, evaluate models, develop self-service analytics solutions, and make/present actionable recommendations to the management and leadership
  • Solve/trouble shoot endpoint device issues using AI and ML (AI Ops)
  • Build decision support tool for solving complex IT issues.
  • Provide thought leadership to deliver transformative AIOps solutions on our SaaS platform
  • Provides strategic direction to the planning, design and architecture of high quality, complex software systems
  • Solve customers' complex IT problems using innovative analytical processes and techniques
  • Develop and apply advanced techniques and theories to deliver actionable business insights based on large-scale data
  • Manage the development and testing of algorithms/functions to address business requirements
  • Manage the design and testing of new analytical technologies and the development of new algorithms/functions

Essential Requirements

  • 12 years of experience (or 8 years with a PhD) or equivalent experience in statistics, mathematics, computer science, operations research, or a related quantitative field.
  • Demonstrated experience with multiple ML algorithms: e.g., Clustering, Regularization, Bayesian inference, Decision Tree, etc
  • Proficiency in state-of-art knowledge across Deep learning, NLP, Classification, Regression etc. on large datasets
  • Extensive experience in ML model deployment and API building
  • Demonstrated experience with unsupervised and semi-supervised machine learning, non-parametric supervised learning method decision tree classifiers
  • Coding skills in Python or R, SQL, Scala
  • Knowledge of statistics and research methods
  • Understanding of cloud concepts. Azure preferable.
  • Experience with large data sets and distributed computing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey analytic insights effectively to both IT and business leaders
  • Ability to lead relationships with internal stakeholders and transfer business questions into quantitative problem statements
  • Collaborate with software engineers, business stakeholders and product owners in an Agile environment
  • Have complete ownership of model outcomes and drive continuous improvement
  • Strong background in data pipeline, distributed data processing (such as spark), cloud computing, working with small and big data sets

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with SQL, NoSQL Database and coding in C#
  • Experience with big data analytics technology such as Hadoop, Spark and related modules preferable
  • Experience with Big data technologies like Azure Event Hubs, Cassandra, Spark, Kafka, GraphQL
  • High level understanding of systems modeling and product lifecycle
  • Domain knowledge in the area of Operating system, Firmware, BIOS, Virtual Machines, PC troubleshooting
