This temporary position will focus on data solutions with neighbours across the ministry to enhance Compassion's data capabilities through data governance, data tooling, and data consulting. Together with teammates, this individual will continuously improve Compassion's data ecosystem and support data users and data professionals. Working with data stewards and neighbours, establish and implement data governance policy to continuously improve data health. This includes sharing data knowledge, ensuring proper data availability, and improving data quality. He or she enables leveraging Compassion's data ecosystem by supporting the selection and usage of data applications and processes. This includes assisting in the utilization and maintenance of data tools to optimize effective and efficient use of the data ecosystem. This team member also acts as a comprehensive solution advisor to provide data discovery and guide neighbours to the right-sized data solution that maximize Compassion's data platforms and tools—with solutions ranging from data pipelines to data science products. At this career level, the incumbent generally works independently on small projects or as a team member on larger projects.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
- Acts as an advocate for children. Understands and advances Christ's mandate to protect children. Raises awareness of the needs of children and takes active steps to help protect against neglect, abuse, and exploitation of children. Promotes the dignity, respect, positive treatment, potential of children in all circumstances. Encourages the involvement of others in helping children in need. Reports and appropriately supports responses to incidents of harm of children if they occur.
- Using basic understanding the data needs of our neighbours, helps support their data activities through data governance, data tooling, and data consulting. Supports neighbours in effective using data to help release children from poverty in Jesus' name.
- Supports efforts to improve Compassion data by working on data governance with data stewards. Monitor data health metrics and recommend policy updates. Helps analyze and improve the data governance model.
- Help create data solutions with neighbours. Use basic knowledge of data policy, data systems, and analytic methods to investigate data problems and contribute to solutions.
- Supports improvements the Compassion data ecosystem. Helps other IT teams to improve data delivery and contribute to the data ecosystem roadmap while learning the data platform landscape.
- Supports data tool curation to meet neighbour needs. Assists in data tool and process implementation. Participates with teams that maintain applications and related processes. Communicate changes clearly and proactively mitigate impact to neighbours.
- Assists with incoming requests for data support to accomplish solution options. Documents, tracks, and monitors requests to ensure a timely resolution. Follows-up as required.
- When working in the Region Office, focuses on international projects and region-based support including global partners, national offices and frontline churches in their region. Cooperates with other staff to resolve complex issues.

Education
- Bachelor's Degree in related field.
