WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a Data Scientist, you’ll play an active role in the Digital Twin Project at our new Sherbrooke, Quebec plant that involves developing a virtual model of the Plant’s entire supply chain and using real-time data augmented with predictive and prescriptive AI capabilities to improve the Plant’s overall performance.
In this role, you will:
Leverage strong expertise in machine-learning and optimization to design, prototype, build, test, and scale up leading-edge AI solutions
Process, analyze, and share insights from large and complex data sets, and build platforms for others to analyze data sets
Interact with business divisions to understand value creation opportunities and translates them into use case opportunities
Work with Senior Business and Technology leaders by providing technical guidance related to value pools priorities, AI use case opportunities, product portfolio, data architecture, etc.
Carry out quality assurance and monitor integrity of analytics tools & data modeling, by developing best practices for analytics (models, standards, tools)
Support adoption and track impact of analytics on business
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
MSc or PhD in Machine Learning, Optimization, Statistics, Operations Research, or related field
Relevant data science work experience of 8 – 10 years, including in professional environment
In-depth technical knowledge of machine learning algorithms and/or optimization methods with proven experience, and strong knowledge of mathematical underpinnings
Experience applying advanced statistical methods to solve real business problems using complex data sets, with accountability for leading/influencing projects
Fluency in Python. Other languages are plusses, e.g., R, C/C++, Java, Scala, Julia
Experience with using big data visualization/UI/management tools
Experience developing data pipeline leveraging market solutions, e.g., Cloudera, Talend, MongoDB
Experience in simulation tools, e.g., AnyLogic, or supply chain solutions, e.g., Llamasoft, is a plus
Ability to write, improve, and manage efficient code and to collaborate with other key stakeholders
Ability to think critically and conceptually
Strong project management skills
Capacity to develop well-structured communications and presentations
Bilingual in English & French is considered an asset
