As a Barclays Data Scientist you will join our high performing Statistical Modelling and Development team who’s remit lies within the trading activities in the Markets division, in particular, electronic trading. You will be part of our Investment Banking business, working closely with our Markets revenue generating teams. You will also be focused on building out predictive models in the High Touch credit business using classical quantitative techniques and modern machine learning methods.

What will you be doing?

• Designing predictive models using classical and modern machine learning techniques
• You will be responsible for implementation, testing, and production of models
• Working closely with the broader Credit business to understand and systematically enhance human workflow through use of predictive models and analytics
• Proactively identify problems/issues and provide resolutions to them
• Participating in team peer reviews of code, modelling and testing along with knowledge sharing and presentations

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience of Credit primary and secondary market making products: corporate bonds, bank loans, single name cds, index cds, fixed income ETFs, corporate credit portfolio trading
• PhD or Master’s degree in a quantitative, mathematical or scientific discipline (with good exposure to applied probability, modern applied statistics, machine learning)
• Commercial software development experience in python is essential
• Enterprise experience of building production quality infrastructure is essential

• Proven experience of e-trading development
• Experience and understanding of cloud technologies
