As a Senior Data Analyst in KinderCare’s Research and Evaluation team, you will bring your strong analytic and communication skills to bear on our mission of supporting children’s learning and growth. The Research and Evaluation team works with KinderCare’s Education and Government Relations departments to implement research programs that document and inform improvements in child outcomes and program quality. This position reports to the Manager of Research and Evaluation.
Job ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:As Senior Data Analyst, you will support the activities in the Research and Evaluation department. This will include:
- Analyzing quantitative and qualitative education data, including large longitudinal quantitative datasets, to develop insights about children’s learning and program quality in the company’s early childhood education and before-and-after school care programs
Clearly visualizing and communicating research results to internal and external stakeholders
Project management and support for the implementation of early education-related field research and assessment administration
Building strong relationships and partnerships with cross-functional teams and external agencies including school districts and accrediting bodies to support research and evaluation efforts
Using data to inform and support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts
Developing and applying research tools, including survey and assessment development and validation, data collection, and documentation and verification of data accuracy
Maintaining KinderCare’s child and program assessments database
Supporting educators in the use of assessment to inform instruction
Providing data to support early childhood education policy and child advocacy efforts
Qualifications
Education:
• This position requires a Master’s Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education or Developmental Psychology, Economics, Public Policy, Psychology, Sociology or a related field, with substantial training in research and statistical methods. Doctoral Degree is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Minimum:
• Experience planning and supporting assessment and/or research projects from concept through implementation phases
- Experience with educational research and assessment
Experience organizing, cleaning, and reporting on large datasets
Familiarity and expertise with quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including longitudinal analysis
Proficiency within Windows environment required, including Excel, database solutions, survey administration tools, and statistical analysis tools such as SPSS and R
Experience with reviewing and producing data in tables and graphs
Solid written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
Experience working with diverse populations of students and coworkers and promoting equity-based practices
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time in fast-paced environment
Meticulous attention to detail
Acceptance of feedback and constructive evaluation of work
Preferred:- Experience in the field of early childhood education
Experience using R or similar statistical programming languages to manage data
Advanced graphing/data visualization and presentation skills
Skills in SQL and database queries
Experience with Qualtrics
Experience with REDCap data management
Experience with corporate processes, budgets, and workflows
