Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Healthcare Data Analyst 1 to our location in Beaverton, OR.

We are seeking a Healthcare Data Analyst 1 to be perform complex and diverse analysis duties in support of financial, quality, and business needs. As determined by direct supervisor, provides advanced analytical support for multiple programs and projects.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain financial models in the following areas: claims reserving, non-regulated commercial pricing, financial forecast, and benefit pricing.
• Provide key inputs to regulated commercial pricing and Medicare Advantage pricing.
• Maintain an understanding of, and reports on, medical and pharmacy trends and risk adjustment programs.
• Estimate accruals for government programs.
• Analyze healthcare data on a book of business.
• Develop processes, write programs, and/or create databases using analytic tools to produce accurate and timely completion of analytic solutions.
• Organize, prepare, and distribute clinical and operational reports utilizing multiple data systems.
• Develop and provide support for relational databases, including reporting design, and data management.
• Compile utilization and quality profiles of provider performance by using advanced statistical analysis techniques and tools and by using advanced relational database and programming techniques.
• Provide analytical and statistical support for clinical and operational reporting projects.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

• Bachelor's degree in a highly quantitative field plus 3 years of experience in data analysis or equivalent experience OR
• High School Education or equivalent plus 5 years of experience in data analysis.
• Full working knowledge of job responsibilities, procedures, and practices.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to take initiative to implement and/or improve established processes in support of operational area.
• Working knowledge of technical research methods and familiarity with multivariate statistical techniques.
• Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office and Microsoft SQL-Server). Knowledge of SQL and VB/VBA programming.
• Relational database skills.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

• Healthcare organization/health insurer experience.
