Job Number: R0166664

Data Engineer

The Opportunity:

As a Data Scientist, you’re excited at the prospect of unlocking the secrets held by a data set, and you’re fascinated by the possibilities presented by IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. In an increasingly connected world, massive amounts of structured and unstructured data open new opportunities. As a data scientist at Booz Allen, you can help turn these complex data sets into useful information to solve global challenges. Across private and public sectors—from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence—we need you to help find the answers in the data. This role is for a self-driven, problem solver with a development background and mindset to join a like-minded and skilled team. The role is high profile, high impact, efficient development, and technical lead engineer role to improve and optimize solutions for our clients.

This team’s focus has two parts, providing expert guidance internally and to all clients for solution data challenges, and quickly developing and deploying MVP proof of concept solutions to resolve our program's most challenging and unaddressed solution improvement needs or data problems. Quickly gain the trust of internal and external client technical counterparts through a combination of skillset, solution awareness, and creative problem-solving. This is a rare opportunity to creatively solve complex problems and drive full development lifecycle, design into implementation, and live client environments. Ideal skillset has a balance of hands-on development experience and strong verbal communication to lead in-depth technical discussions, implementations, or agency working sessions. Become the smartest person in the room on client solutions, customizations, and awareness of how outside factors impact each solution. Apply development skillset to resolve both small and large issues with the greatest positive impact on the program including reducing client staff burden, integrating new data, and finding ways to scale improvements of solutions across the Agency portfolio.
