The Role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic learner with strong enterprise data warehousing skills to work in our IT Department as a Data Warehouse Developer. Reporting to the Director, Data Services, you will be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining code used to create our Enterprise Data Platform. Your work will impact the development of a new and exciting platform used by a growing and dynamic organization. In this role, you will leverage your skills to develop quality-designed code to ensure data is stored effectively and securely using a variety of toolsets. You will provide technical support for the platform, enhancing the data quality and data source capabilities while functioning as a subject matter expert on the data, structures, and processes used build and run the platform.

Responsibilities

  • Advanced SQL-querying proficiency
  • Develop Data Warehouse solutions using cloud-based tools in an AWS/Snowflake environment
  • Utilize Wherescape and similar tools to perform ELT
  • Triage issues and provide technical support in both production and non-production environments to resolution
  • Communicate issues and develop plans and recommendations for corrective actions to mitigate future recurrences
  • Function as a subject matter expert in the data and processes utilized to maintain the platform with a keen eye towards improving automation and efficiency
  • Read and disseminate Oracle PL/SQL code

Skills

  • Proven experience using Cloud-based technologies, especially with regard to ELT software or other similar tools
  • A solid understanding of on-premise and cloud integration and infrastructure technologies
  • Strong Enterprise Data Warehousing skills
  • Must be well organized and maintain excellent documentation habits
  • Enthusiasm for learning and desire to deliver high-quality customer service
  • Must possess a fortitude mentality to accomplish tasks and departmental goals
  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adhere to organizational and departmental policies and goals

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Experience executing in an Agile environment, preferably with Jira
  • Demonstrated expertise delivering technical solutions as per tickets, specified plans and deliverables
  • Experience with AWS
  • Snowflake experience
  • Experience supporting an existing Data Warehouse (preferably Oracle)

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Wherescape experience, preferred
  • 2+ years experience with AWS
  • Strong automation and programming skills experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various scripting tools
  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, or related field
  • Experience with Oracle PL/SQL
  • Exposure to Oracle Enterprise Manager
