WHAT WE OFFER

The CCO (Chief Commercial Officer) Community has responsibility for innovation management, supply chain management, Central Marketing and the commercial activities of our business units. This includes the Polyurethanes, Polycarbonates, and Coatings , Adhesives, and Specialties segments.

The Digital R&D I (DRD1) team is responsible for innovative computer-aided solutions for chemical product and application development at Covestro. DRD1 integrates expertise in process data acquisition, laboratory automation, R&D data science and high performance computing (HPC).

• In your role you generate predictive models for chemical recipe development or production
• You explore and develop innovative solutions for deployment and are responsible for visualization of the models and algorithms
• Furthermore you coordinate implementation of data-driven procedures for R&D workflows
• You select IT hardware and software tools necessary for your work and coordinate the necessary acquisition and configuration
• You promote growth of digitalization in R&D by contributing to or leading complex internal development projects
• Furthermore you interact, communicate and cooperate with other international Covestro R&D groups synergistically
• Technical supervision of interns or students (bachelor or master thesis) is also one of your tasks

WHAT YOU OFFER

• You hold a university degree (preferred PhD) in science, with substantial professional experience (> 2 years) and background in statistics and data science, analysis and analytics, and experience in working with technical or scientific data
• You have broad knowledge of Deep learning (artificial neural networks, machine learning, AI) and the required data bases, programming languages (e. g., SQL, Python), and methods and tools for visualization
• You are able to apply computing and programming concepts to answer scientific and technical questions
• Proactive working attitude, self-initiative and desire to maintain expertise and acquire new skills and knowledge in the fields required for the job is among your key competencies
• Fluent German and English skills, spoken and written, round up your profile
