Data Scientist

We are recruiting a Data Scientist to our growing innovation team, to help us take our market leading Data Analytics products to the next level. Our Data Analytics business is providing platforms that are enabling our customers to manage their data in the best possible way. This is a cutting-edge software aimed primarily at the pharmaceutical and biotech industry.

You will be responsible for understanding challenges in life science R&D and manufacturing to identify opportunities using statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualisation techniques. Your role will be to evaluate and adopt methods to support digitalisation across the industry. Your role is to provide the link between customer needs and our software development team and will be essential for the success of our innovation strategy.

This position is based in Umeå.

What you will accomplish together with us:

• Working with stakeholders throughout the organisation to identify opportunities for leveraging process and research data to drive business solutions

• Assessing the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data modelling techniques

• Developing and customising models and algorithms to solve data analytic use cases

• Facilitating technology transfer from the research team to development

• Reading and understanding scientific papers and adopt inventions to practical use

• Developing processes and tools to monitor and evaluate data accuracy and model performance

What will convince us:

• Bachelor's degree in biotechnology statistics or computer science

• Proven experience in a similar role in life sciences industry or related fields

• Experience of systems biology modelling

• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with clients

• Capable of working towards deadlines

• Highly collaborative and able to work with stakeholders internationally
