A leading, well-known consultancy that offers diverse projects across the health, financial, banking and insurance domains is now seeking to hire an experienced Data Engineer to join their team.

THE ROLE

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will work on projects for various clients that typically last several months at a time. What this looks like in terms of day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Providing advice on the design of data architecture and big data platforms, whilst following best practices. For instance, reviewing and choosing the best tool for the job
  • Implementing large scale data pipelines to extract, transform and load data from a variety of data sources
  • Collaborating with both Data Scientists and Data Engineers to work towards the same goals, creating scalable solutions
  • Advising clients on how to adopt to a more data-driven culture, by adopting MLOps
  • Leading and mentoring junior and medior Data Engineers, as you will be taking the lead on projects

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Be an experienced data engineer, with proven experience in a team lead or managerial role
  • Be able to code in an object orientated language whether that is Python, Scala or similar
  • Have sound knowledge of public clouds, with Azure being preferred
  • Know how to both design and implement big data architecture.
  • Have shown your ability to take the lead on projects and mentor/manage less senior team members
  • Be comfortable being the face of the organization whilst working on projects for external clients
  • Speak fluent English, with language skills in Dutch being an added plus
  • Be currently living in the Netherlands
