Job Description:
The Enterprise Data Science Center of Excellence (CoE) team, within the Enterprise Business Intelligence (EBI) organization, works beyond enabling the business users with tools and technologies that help them with their information discovery and analysis. This CoE is responsible for guiding the broader organization with competency development, Human Resources strategy to attract and retain top data science talent, and consult with senior leadership on corporate-priority projects. We know a community of similar practitioners is important to you, this is an opportunity for you to be the integrator across the existing data science community, then mobilize this community to emerge your vision of Enterprise Data Science.
We operate on a global level, with regional presence, with team members in Austin, Eindhoven, Guadalajara and Kaohsiung. This team is seeking a highly experienced Data Scientist leader to augment the existing team competencies, provide subject matter expertise and hands-on support to embedded business analytics teams. They’ll also be key personnel in the Data Science Center of Excellence which spans the entire Enterprise and supports all business domains, in collaboration with and support from C-Suite leadership.
This Data Scientist Role will focus on helping our internal business partners accelerate the transformation of their processes and people. You will perform direct outreach to technical developers, citizen data scientists, data scientists and leaders in the business teams, providing them with the technology and support needed to accelerate their advanced analytics and Machine Learning maturity. You will need to come to the job with strong soft skills and the ability to distill complex data science concepts and outcomes into a format consumable by non-technical business leaders. While you will find yourself developing/operationalizing complex analytics solutions, you will also spend significant time with Directors, VP’s and C-Suite Executives to help them identify, scope, prioritize and resource data science solutions which support their business initiatives.

You will be one of the technical subject matter experts for our cloud enabled Enterprise Data Science Platform (EDSP), helping us scale the platform across our global corporate footprint and expand the capabilities of the platform.
Job Responsibilities:
Be an acting member of the Enterprise Data Science Center of Excellence, the global team which serves as one central intake pipeline for data science projects/initiatives which supports our Enterprise Business Intelligence Executive Steering Board.
Analyze in depth our customers most promising data science use cases to understand their context, objectives, constraints, asses their feasibility and potential value and prioritize these use cases commensurate with their business context and strategic goals/initiatives.
Propose the right technical approach for our business partners data science use cases and provide guidance which will allow them to formalize it in a technical proposal, including advising on architecture, best practices and refactoring existing solutions to optimize efficiency/cost.
Support your corresponding EBI Dataiku Enablement team to guide their use and growth with this technology.
Scale NXP’s Citizen Data Scientist Program, globally, to support training of 100-200 analytics practitioners per year.
Mentor/Coach junior and citizen data scientists, occasionally leading training on special topics.
Continually identify existing enhancements which would allow us to scale the EDSP, or provide more efficient and lower cost of ownership of the platform.
Consult with the various IT architecture boards to provide recommendations on data & analytics tools and approaches, to support specific use cases.
Codify and improve EBI’s methodology for managing successful data science projects.
Skills & Qualifications
Fluent in English; working knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
Passion for creative problem solving, data science and culture building.
Able to see the “big picture” and understand where your value is for the business. Analyze user needs, understand where the gaps are, and lead change across the company to adopt data science practices. See the needs of the business, design solutions for those needs, and provide positive value back to the company.
Generalists are ok, however it would be ideal to hire individuals which have previous experience executing and operationalizing projects in the domains we commonly support, such as: Finance, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Global Sales and Marketing, Manufacturing and Operations, IT
Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with technical, non, technical and senior leadership individuals as needed.
Engineering mindset: excellent problem solving, analytical skills and critical thinking with an aptitude for learning new and rapidly evolving technologies in the advanced analytics and data science space.
Experience with Enterprise-scale cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture designs, database migrations, and technology management.
Minimum, B.S. in a STEM related degree (Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, etc.) or Econometrics, and relevant follow-up graduate studies, such as: Master of Computational Data Science, Master of Science in Machine Learning, Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Innovation, Master of Science in Computer Science with AI Specialization, etc. Real world experience is a must!
In-depth understanding and experience working with a variety of analytics tools and advanced analytics technologies (Dataiku, Azure, AWS, SQL/NoSQL databases, Docker, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure DevOps, Azure Resource Manager, Python, R, Spark, Bash, Gitlab, Terraform, etc) and experience working with a variety of APIs and web services.
Strong working proficiency with Unix-based operating systems (i.e., command line interface, SSH, networking, resource utilization, etc).
Prior Dataiku skills are ideal but not a requirement.
