Data Scientist – Home Loans

Location: Docklands, VIC

We have a Data Scientist role available within the Home Loans Tribe. This role is responsible for building advanced models to understand and solve complex data problems through advanced modelling.

Your skillset will enable you to source and interrogate data, working with a focus on the future, with an active understanding of industry trends to ensure capability development is aligned. You will influence strategic direction by translating insights into practical business recommendations, communicating team objectives and presenting data in digestible, logical and compelling ways.

What might a day in the life look like?

• Deliver strategic insights and lead engagement to enable action plans to remediate pain points
• Drives and maintains a strong working relationship key internal stakeholders
• Develops and own strategies and processes to capture and improve to track business performance
• Manage the development of detailed business requirements
• Champion process and reengineering opportunities
• Develops sustainable processes and documentation to ensure business continuity
• Coach and develop others technical capability, as the technical expert within the team
• Ensure adherence to ANZ policies, processes and external regulatory and legislative requirements

What will likely be in your toolkit?

• Advanced knowledge of SQL, Python and PySpark
• Advanced Database skills in Oracle, Teradata.
• Hadoop or Big Data platforms skills.
• Advanced Qlik Sense, or other visualisation tool expertise.
• Enterprise data assets, core mainframe systems, Cloudera, etc.
• Solid understanding of predictive modelling, pattern recognition, clustering, supervised and unsupervised learning. Proven experience in applied probability and statistics
• Relationship management and communication skills
