Job description
Piper Companies is seeking a Data Scientist for an established consumer healthcare company. The Data Scientist should be based in either Fort Washington, PA or Skillman, NJ. The Data Scientist will assist in administering and improving existing safety analytics and surveillance applications, databases, and infrastructure.
Responsibilities of the Data Scientist:
- Develop, maintain, and execute advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to solve complex data problems and initiatives
- Translate the strategic vision of safety science into solutions and insights through development of new methodology and applications
- Ensure the models and statistical tests are reusable and modular
- Communicate effectively with technical and non technical audiences
Qualifications of the Data Scientist:
- 3+ years of experience in data science, software engineering, analytics, and/or data production
- Demonstrable expertise building and supporting machine learning models
- Strong experience programming in Python and/or R; SK Learn/SciKit learn a plus
- Experience performing big data modeling work utilizing Spark or Hadoop, MongoDB or other non-relational database experience
- Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL relational management database systems, Tableau or other BI/visualization tool experience a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with business stakeholders-collaboration with IT, QA, and Finance areas will be a daily need
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Analytics, Math, Epidemiology, or Statistics
Compensation for the Sr. Data Scientist:
- $90,000 – $130,000 annually with a full comprehensive benefits package
- $55+ hr, commensurate with experience-no C2C
