Working environment

We are responsible for serving ~5 million customers, enabling data analytics for a vast portfolio covering : accounts, payment products like credit cards, packages, savings & interest calculations, insurances, open banking and APIs, transaction banking services, digital product like Apple pay/ Google pay etc and associated business/ risk management processes. We contribute significantly to the revenue of the bank, and we want to continue and improve on this path to Product Excellence.

We apply advanced analytics to explore, research and gather valuable insights with regards to relevant business questions for one or more product groups, advise them on new proposition design and duty of care topics, help decide the course of the action and setting priorities with the aim to achieve great customer satisfaction. We also act as change agents to embed data driven mindset at all levels of the organization, thereby strengthening data maturity and literacy in the bank.

This team works under guidance of Prateeksha Garg , and is positioned under leadership of Alex Evers (Head Daily Banking Banking Office) & Michel van Drie (Director & Management Team member).

Your job

We are looking for an enthusiastic all round data professional who

• Is passionate about data and likes the art of storytelling through numbers
• Is analytical, has an eye for detail while keeping in mind the bigger picture
• Is happy to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams & a believer of teams working together
• Understands the importance of managing a diverse stakeholder field
• Is engaged in complex long term projects, with focus on continuous delivery in small increments
• Proactive in seeking opportunities to improve with regards to team, processes and data
• Is keen to understand underlying processes for different products & services, likes connecting the dots
• Can conduct data research/analytics on different datasets (products, transactions, channels, customers)
• Can extract actionable insights from large data sources, perform recurring /ad hoc quantitative analysis
• Is curious, asks enough questions to deep dive and doesn’t hesitate to change/ challenge the status quo

Your profile

• Degree in STEM or economics/business, with an analytics focus
• 6-8 years of work experience, with at least 4-5 years in analytical field
• Proficiency in programming language such as SQL, Python or R
• Expertise in data visualization tools like PowerBI or Tableau
• Good understanding of data mining techniques, emerging technologies (Spark, machine learning, neural networks etc) & cloud technology e.g. Azure Cloud Services)
• Inclination for mentoring junior team members on hard and soft skills
• A strong combination of analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, communication and reporting skills
• Familiarity with agile development methodology, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Impressive written and verbal communication skills
• Nice to have : Understanding of Data Warehouse concepts and data modelling techniques
