Phillip Riley has partnered with an Energy Storage R&D company in an important growth stage. This scale up are looking to add a number of staff in 2023, including an electronics data engineer to help drive capability and performance in the engineering team. The purpose of this role is to acquire data from testing and fault finding to support the software and hardware teams, as well as helping to automate as many processes as possible.

This role will suit someone from an engineering background with a passion for data analytics, perhaps looking to move more into data or taking their skills from a test position into a data focused role.


Job Title: Electronics / Electrical Data Engineer

Location: Melbourne (Central location)

Salary: Negotiable. Includes share options / Flexible working / Training allowance / Travel costs

Length: Full-time, Permanent


Key Skills:

  • Scripting experience using Python, Matlab, R or similar
  • Experienced in an R&D environment, working alongside hardware and software engineers
  • Familiar with design principles, and some experience in electronics design / simulation
  • Effective communicator, and comfortable presenting data findings to internal stakeholders
  • The business will consider a graduate, through to an experienced engineer
  • Degree qualified in a relevant subject, such as Electronics / Computer Science etc.



Desirable Skills:

  • Database design and SQL
  • Experience with automated testing
  • Experience with power systems engineering
  • Machine Learning or Applied Statistics
