Join the Data Science team, where you will bring your advanced analytics, machine learning, and applied research skills to bear on solving problems of critical national importance. MITRE’s Data Science department is seeking an experienced data science leader to join us in shaping the future of advanced analytics solutions for MITRE’s U.S. government sponsors. A successful candidate for this position has demonstrated leadership and technical experience in the following areas:

• Applying Advanced Analytics Techniques
  • Can implement machine learning techniques and statistical analyses leveraging significant experience with languages such as R, Python, or SAS.
  • Understands mechanisms underlying popular machine learning techniques and their associated constraints/limitations, as well as the considerations involved in choosing which technique or algorithm to use for a problem

• Architecting Cloud and Big Data Analytics Solutions
  • Understands how advanced analytics techniques can realistically be applied to meet a variety of real-world mission requirements
  • Has knowledge of cloud computing solutions, particularly within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment

• Leading and Growing Analytic Engagements
  • Leads project-level and/or task-level analytics engagements, providing day-to-day oversight of analytical capability development
  • Provides technical leadership on projects, either to junior staff or as a member of team as a stand-alone senior subject matter expert
  • Translates complex results into actionable recommendations that can be understood by senior leadership and non-technical audiences

Degrees & Experience: MS or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science and over 10 years of experience (with at least 5 years of data analytics experience) is preferred.

Clearances: Candidate must have the ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance. Current Secret or Top Secret clearance is preferred. Current TS/SCI access is highly preferred.
