The primary responsibility of a Data Analyst is to perform complex analysis in an evolving data environment. The ability to extract and analyze data, clean, and combine disparate data sets, and identify patterns and trends as needed, with the subsequent ability to query and synthesize the data into information consumable by client stakeholders and senior business decision makers.
In this role, the Data Analyst will work collaboratively with all Population Health departments including Clinical Services, Quality/STARs, Provider Education, and Provider Relations to analyze and visualize data to enhance products and reporting tools, and to provide insights on operational efficiency. This role will also work closely with the Product and Tech teams to ensure population health needs are met and communicate clearly with all parties. Responsible for the full lifecycle of analytic activities to include requirements gathering and data designs, development of analytic tools and reporting capabilities, meaningful contributions to data product development and continuous monitoring of performance and quality control plans to identify improvements. The analysis, reporting initiatives, and recommendations will support operational efficiency, product development, and strategic decision making.

This role will primarily be located in our Gilbert, AZ Office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop data extracts and reports by interpreting requirements gathered from stakeholders, design the appropriate reports, and identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Collaborate with department heads to analyze effectiveness of the various population health programs
- Identify improvements of algorithms for member identification of care needs and risk stratification
- Collaborate with the data/product and tech teams to create internal reporting and dashboards related to population health metrics
- Communicate clearly with internal departments of mixed technical and clinical backgrounds
- Select and use appropriate tools to perform data extraction, modeling, transformation, cleansing, loading, and interpretation
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and design systems, processes, and templates for capturing data then gather and analyze the results
- Streamline data collection methods and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
- Provide consultation, make recommendations, and assist Arkos stakeholders in implementing data extraction routines
- Review reports and performance indicators to locate and correct data issues or gaps
- May develop software utilizing various software
Qualifications/Skills:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in healthcare or managed care setting
- Experience in quantitative prediction algorithms
- Proficiency in SQL, R, Python, Microsoft Office (Excel Master)
- Healthcare experience and working knowledge of STARs, HEDIS, RAF, Utilization metrics, MLR/HBR, etc.
- Extensive multi-level problem-solving experience
- Ability to multi-task, shifting back and forth effectively between two or more activities or sources of information
