You’re a visionary who can also execute-you see the possibilities, then create a plan and make it happen. You understand media measurement or are able to quickly pick up domain knowledge on the job. You write production-quality code and enjoy orchestrating your big-data solutions at scale. You’re able to shift gears quickly and adapt to changing circumstances. You also have the communication chops to translate it all into conversation or presentations, connecting strategic objectives to daily work. Seeing the big picture takes attention to detail. You know what’s happening in the data science world and you’re ready to influence what’s next.

ABOUT THE JOB
Our team builds methodologies that integrate Nielsen’s state-of-the-art data assets into cutting-edge audience measurement and planning products. The Lead Data Scientist will orchestrate production pipelines for our content measurement for TV, digital, and radio platforms. Meetings are usually held during standard East Coast working hours; some flexibility may be required for international coordination.

Qualifications

    • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or other STEM fields.
    • Proficiency in Python, Spark, or Scala to develop sharable software with the appropriate technical documentation.
    • Experience with enterprise data systems.
    • Extensive experience in work with cloud platforms.
    • Experience of work with Hadoop, Apache Spark, and other big data systems.
    • Experience with Atlassian suite is a plus.
    • Proven track record of design and implementation of data pipelines (e.g. using Airflow)Experience with statistical and machine-learning models.
    • Experience with both designed and organic data4 or more years work experience in data engineering or data science.
    • Excellent communication skills, ability to explain complex problems to technical and non-technical audiences
