Tell Me More About Data...
Through the TWN app, we obtain over 20 Billion accurate location breadcrumbs per month from millions of users who have given consent to have their location enabled. In return, these users receive weather information and alerts to their specific location. The data division has developed algorithms that leverage this massive amount of data to provide our media clients a way to accurately reach the right audience and give retail clients valuable insights on their customers.
In the last couple of years our insights business has really taken off (even during a pandemic). Recently we have expanded to provide insights to businesses in the transportation sector, as well as helping clients in retail/out of home sector in key consumer insights as the market recovers from COVID 19 by providing pre vs post pandemic insights. Due to this rapid growth in our insights product, we are ramping up a dedicated data science team for our insights division!
Why We Need You:
As a data scientist in our insights division you are expected to apply ML techniques and develop novel algorithms that are scalable and can run on our massive scale of data to provide valuable insights for our clients. You will also work closely with our data engineering teams to ensure that these algorithms are scalable and reproducible for a quickly growing client base. The current effort in our insights division will focus on retail, transportation, and real-estate clients. If that isn't enough for you - this business is quickly growing and evolving so you will also get the opportunity to develop solutions for a potentially diverse group of clients!
Qualifications (Must Haves):
- Undergraduate degree in one of the STEM disciplines (post-graduate would be preferred)
- 2+ years of data science experience in industry/and or very strong academic achievement in the field of data science
- Experience in ML and it's application in a variety of use cases
- Good understanding of statistics
- Experience using SQL or pyspark, and demonstrated ability to work with very large datasets
- Coding experience (python or java, etc)
- Skills in graphical data visualization (matplotlib in python would be an example of this)
It Would be Great If You Have...
- Experience coding in Java
- Experience with workflow scheduling and monitoring frameworks (for example Apache Airflow)
