LOCATION: 25 Owl Street, Braamfontein Werf, Johannesburg

REPORTING TO: You will be reporting to Team Lead: Analytics

ROLE MISSION STATEMENT:

Your primary responsibility is ensuring that we deliver value to our customers through powerful predictive analytics. You’ll be working in a team exploring and building new data-driven products as part of Inoxico’s growth strategy.

Your role is critical in finding the best solutions to our most important problems, leveraging our powerful data sets, analytical capabilities, and strong experimental approach.

You will be part of a world-class product development team that is at the center of Inoxico’s disruptive strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Science

• Frame design problems considering both technical and business objectives

• Extract, transform and prepare data from multiple source systems(including SQL databases, APIs, SharePoint, etc.) for use in model development

• Develop predictive, descriptive, and prescriptive models (statistical and machine learning) using general-purpose programming language (Python/R/Matlab)

• Develop data pipeline infrastructure to support model development and deployment

• Deploy, measure, and refine models over their lifecycle

• Develop models and support infrastructure development in a manner that manages model risk

• Keep up to date with latest technology & trends in the field (both within Data Science & Trade Credit)

• Develop supporting systems, tools, processes & documentation to support product growth

• Organize and plan work effectively, with the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and be able to prioritize work in alignment with key business objectives

• Share learnings & knowledge and contribute towards increasing overall team effectiveness

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data science projects to business goals

• Drive individual responsibilities with minimal supervision and take accountability for the work delivered

Inoxico Leadership

• Participate in relevant strategic, tactical, and operational meetings

• Contribute to strategy development

• Execute relevant strategy through related tasks and initiatives

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
(*critical)

• Quantitative 4 year university degree preferred (e.g. Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Actuarial Science among others)

• Proficient knowledge of a general-purpose programming language (Python/R) and/or ETL tools (Knime/Power Query) for machine learning and data analytics

• Proficient knowledge of data handling techniques (extraction, manipulation, analysis, transformation, prediction, forecasting, modeling etc.)

• Appropriate Machine Learning & Statistical concepts

• Working knowledge of SQL queries and SQL Server Database
