Data Scientist

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Part-Time Data Scientist. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for analyzing complex datasets, developing models, and extracting insights to drive data-driven decision-making. Responsibilities:

• Problem Definition and Solution Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business problems and define data-driven solutions. Formulate hypotheses, design experiments, and develop analytical methodologies to address specific challenges.
• Model Development and Evaluation: Build, validate, and refine predictive models using statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization techniques. Evaluate model performance and make recommendations for model enhancements or alternative approaches.
• Data Visualization and Reporting: Present data-driven insights and recommendations in clear and meaningful visualizations, reports, and presentations. Communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders, highlighting actionable insights and business implications.
• Data Integrity and Quality Assurance: Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and quality throughout the data analysis process. Identify and resolve data-related issues or inconsistencies, collaborating with relevant teams to improve data collection and management practices.
• Collaborative Projects: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, engineers, and product managers, to understand requirements and integrate data science solutions into business applications. Collaborate on projects to leverage data science techniques for business optimization and improvement.
• Industry Research and Innovation: Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and methodologies in data science and machine learning. Explore innovative approaches and tools to enhance data analysis capabilities and stay ahead in the field.
• Ethics and Privacy: Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations and adhere to ethical guidelines in data collection, analysis, and storage. Handle sensitive data with confidentiality and integrity.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Master's or Ph.D. degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field. Relevant certifications or equivalent experience will be considered.
• Proven experience as a data scientist or in a similar role, preferably in a professional setting.
• Strong proficiency in statistical analysis, machine learning techniques, and data manipulation using programming languages such as Python or R.
• Solid understanding of statistical modeling, experimental design, and hypothesis testing.
• Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib, to effectively communicate insights.
• Proficiency in working with large datasets, SQL, and data querying.
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch) and data science libraries.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with a focus on translating complex business problems into actionable data-driven solutions.
